“Those who thought Taylor Swift was a big deal after the release of her first record should be prepared: She’s about to get way bigger. Though they’re written by a teenager, Swift’s songs have broad appeal, and therein lies the genius and accessibility of her second effort. The insightful “Fifteen” (”In your life you’ll do greater things than dating a boy on the football team”) will connect with teens looking for hope and with adult women looking back, while the sparse “White Horse” will appeal to anyone who’s experienced love lost, which is to say, everyone. “Hey Stephen” (”All those other girls, they’re beautiful but would they write a song for you”) displays Swift’s confident sense of humor, and “Breathe” (written with Colbie Caillat, who sings on the track) is a love-gone-wrong song suitable for women of all ages.—Ken Tucker”

David Archuleta - David Archuleta

“Most teen Disney heroes have got nothing on David Archuleta. The 17-year-old who was one of the most exciting “American Idol” contenders has one of those once-in-a-decade pop voices: A silky tenor with a natural melancholy that makes him a heartbreaker by default. His charming debut exploits that very quality with some strokes of pop genius, like “Touch My Hand,” a temporary love ballad to the pretty girl in the front row, and “Your Eyes Don’t Lie,” a Jonas Brothers-do-”No Diggity” ditty with a fair amount of crooner slink. But Archie is at his best on the bleeders, like piano ballad “To Be With You,” and “Angels,” the Robbie Williams cover he saved from obscurity on “Idol.” These are the kinds of performances meant for arenas. —Kerri Mason”

A man accused of illegally posting songs on the Internet from an unreleased album by Guns N’ Roses has agreed to plead guilty, a federal prosecutor said today (Nov. 11).

Kevin Cogill will enter his guilty plea to one federal count of copyright infringement at a hearing on Dec. 8, said Craig Missakian, assistant U.S. attorney.

The FBI said Cogill posted nine tracks from the highly anticipated Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” on the Web site Antiquiet.com. The album will be released on Nov. 23 exclusively in Best Buy stores. They did not disclose how Cogill, who has no known direct connection to the band, obtained the songs.

Cogill was arrested in August at his Los Angeles home and released on bail. At the time of his arrest, authorities said he faced more than three years in prison if convicted.

Missakian declined to discuss details of the plea deal that Cogill reached with federal prosecutors.

DJ Willis – Taylor Swift - Love Story (Pop Edit / Mix)

I’ve already reviewed the “country” version, and it’s a great track. However I disagree with releasing a “pop” version, because a lot of the young country singers tracks are completely ok to crossover to mainstream without releasing a separate “version”. Still a great song. 8/10

DJ Willis – Christina Aguilera - Genie 2.0

This is the version of the song from the MTV VMA’s that aired in September, and it’s pretty decent. Although it’s kind of wack that she is still trying to capitalize on her original hit, it’s still a good track. 7/10
