Madonna has reportedly secured DJ A-Trak as a producer for her next studio album.
The ‘Celebration’ singer, whose last record Hard Candy was released in 2008, is said to want an “old skool” feel to her new material.
Speaking about the direction of the record, A-Trak told the Daily Star: “It’s my production, turned into song structure – halfway between rap and electronic and whatever else I listen to.”
Madonna is also expected to work with Pearl Jam producer Brendan O’Brien on the album, which is provisionally scheduled for release later this year.
A-Trak has previously worked with Armand Van Helden as duo Duck Sauce, who released single ‘aNYway’ in October.

It may not be a very Merry Christmas for NBC: The network’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center special could be axed this evening due to a possible broadcasters’ union strike.
The New York City chapter of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians is threatening to boycott the popular television special of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree-lighting ceremony unless NBC’s entertainment division restarts stalled contract talks, The Associated Press has learned.
Tonight’s special is set to feature live performances by Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Alicia Keys, The Roots,and Shakira.

After much speculation following the release of a song titled “Acapella” on the internet last week, it was announced today that singer/songwriter Kelis has signed to Interscope Records through will.i.am Music Group. Her as-yet-untitled upcoming album features production from will.i.am, Free School, Boyz Noize, Burnz, DJ Ammo and David Guetta, who produced the above-mentioned retro-dance track.
“I love that I am now a new part of the Interscope family,” Kelis said via a statement. “2010 is around the corner and I can’t wait to put out new music and spend time with real music fans on tour again.”
Kelis’ last label deal was with Jive Records, but she was reportedly dropped late 2007. Earlier this year, a pregnant Kelis filed for divorce from her famous husband Nas. In July, a judge orderd the rapper to pay Kelis, who has since given birth to a baby boy, nearly $44,000 in monthly support.
Kelis is best known for her 2003 single, “Milkshake,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart and sold 883,000 digital downloads, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The track is from her best-selling album, “Tasty,” selling 535,000 units.

Barbara Walters sits down with 2009 music stars Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert as part of her special Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.
Gaga and Adam were chosen as two of the most prominent names in entertainment, sports, politics and pop culture and will have Barbara’s interviews with them aired next Wednesday (December 9) at 10/9c on ABC!
Despite recent controversy over his AMAs performance, Adam doesn’t seem to mind.
“Don’t worry friends: I’m still gonna be me. Always. W/o appologies [sic],†he tweeted. “Just gonna experiment differently w/ how I present myself.â€
