Music Video plus lyrics for “Use Somebody”, Pixie Lott covers the Kings of Leon

Oh whooaa oh oww (2x)

I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces fill the places I can't reach
You know that I could use somebody yeah
You know that I could use somebody yeah

Someone like you and all you know and how you speak
Countless lovers undercover of the street
You know that I could use somebody yeah
You know that I could use somebody yeah

Someone like you whoaa ow whoaa ow (2x)

Off in the night while you live it up
I'm off to sleep
Waging wars to shake the poet and the beat

I hope it's gonna make you notice yeaah
I hope it's gonna make you notice yeah

Someone like me ohh whooaa oh
Someone like me oooh whoaaa whoow

I'm ready now (repeat)

Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody Lyrics

I’ve been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I cant reach

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Someone like you, And all you know, And how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street

You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you

Off in the night, while you live it up, I’m off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat
I hope it’s gonna make you notice
I hope it’s gonna make you notice

Someone like me
Someone like me
Someone like me, somebody

Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody

I’ve been roaming around,
Always looking down at all I see

Kings Of Leon To Play ‘MTV Movie Awards’

Kings of Leon has joined the performance lineup for the “2009 MTV Movie Awards,” a network source confirmed Wednesday morning (May 13). The band is just the second act confirmed for the show, after rapper Eminem. The band will perform “Use Somebody,” the most recent single from its album “Only By The Night.” Hosted by Andy Samberg, the “MTV Movie Awards” will air on Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 p.m. (live ET/tape delayed PT).

As previously reported, Kings of Leon embarked on a North American arena tour on April 19, after playing a string of winter dates that culminated with a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The band’s tour wraps May 21 in San Francisco before its performance at the MTV Movie Awards, which will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City, Ca. on May 31. Kings of Leon will headline several U.S. summer festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Sasquatch, as well as the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K..

Kings of Leon’s 2008 album, “Only by the Night” has sold 673,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, and its lead single “Sex on Fire” spent eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Airplay chart. “Use Somebody” is at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

BRITs winners storm British music charts

BRITs award winners Kings of Leon, Duffy and Elbow stormed up the UK charts this week as their honors translated into success at the cash tills.

U.S. rockers Kings of Leon topped the week’s album rankings with “Only By The Night” while their single “Use Somebody” soared seven places to number three.

The Nashville act, whose record sales in Britain and Australia eclipse those in their home country, scooped the international group and international album categories at Wednesday’s BRITs ceremony.

Sales of the Kings of Leon album jumped by more than 50 percent over the previous week, pushing singer Lily Allen’s “It’s Not Me It’s You” down to second place, the Official Charts Company said.

Welsh singer Duffy’s “Rockferry,” which won the coveted best album prize, jumped 15 places to number four.

“Rockferry” was Britain’s top-selling album of 2008 and worldwide sales are close to five million. Duffy also picked up BRITs for British female and British breakthrough act.

Alternative rockers Elbow, named best British group, leapt 18 places to fifth place with their album “The Seldom Seen Kid.”

Pop duo the Ting Tings — who performed at the BRITs event — were the week’s highest climber in the albums chart, up 25 places at number eight with “We Started Nothing.”

Ex-Smiths singer Morrissey was the highest album new entry with his “Years of Refusal” debuting at number three.

In the singles charts Lily Allen held the top spot with “The Fear,” while American singer Lady GaGa was steady in second place with “Just Dance.”

Kings Of Leon Following MSG Sellout With Tour

Kings Of Leon Following MSG Sellout With Tour

Kings Of Leon will follow up their Jan. 29 sold-out performance at the Madison Square Garden in New York with another run of North American arena shows, beginning April 19 at Agganis Arena in Boston and wrapping at the Bill Graham Civic Center on May 21 in San Francisco.

The shows are in support of the band’s new album “Only by the Night,” which has sold nearly 400,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album’s debut single, “Sex on Fire,” spent eight weeks atop Billboard’s Modern Rock Airplay chart and is the band’s biggest hit to date.

The Garden show marked the Kings first sell-out at the famed arena. “It was cool to see we had that many fans, especially considering we never really had a hit,” Kings Of Leon’s Nathan Followill tells Billboard. “It felt good to sell it out to a lot of people who were turned onto the band through ‘Sex on Fire.’”

Followill says KOL consider themselves first and foremost a live band and don’t record any song they can’t pull off live. “There’s nothing worse in the world than having a record you love and going to watch that band play and they’ve either got two guys on keyboards behind a curtain, they’re playing to tracks, or they don’t have that and the song sounds empty,” he says.

“We’ve got a couple songs on this record that have keyboard parts, so our cousin Nacho is our stage manager, and we have him play keyboards on a couple of songs,” he continues. “We make sure people can see him. We’re not trying to be the Wizard of Oz.”

Kings Of Leon are nominated for three Grammy Awards on Sunday: best rock album, best rock song, best rock performance by a duo or group with vocals. Followill says it would be nice to pick up an award or two, but “I’ve already got two Grammies; one lives in Oklahoma one lives in Tennessee. So we’ve already won
twice, even if we don’t win.”

Product Information, Audio Previews, Reviews and More On:
Kings of Leon - Only By The Night

“Record No. 4 finds Tennessee’s most famous rock’n'roll Pentecostals tamping down the hillbilly stomp in favor of more measured, midtempo numbers that simmer more than scorch. “Only by the Night” requires some patience; it sounds a little like one 43-minute medium-simmer track on first listen but begins to reveal its charms on subsequent ones, like the melancholy howl of first single “Sex on Fire,” the late-night boil on “Revelry” and the meaty rocker “Notion.” There are a few head-scratchers, chief among them the quasi-ballad “Use Somebody,” which indicates someone has been absorbing himself some serious Coldplay, and a sense of bruising earnestness has replaced the band’s old red-state rock. But singer Caleb Followill has never been in better command of his beyond-his-years howl, and he’s got monster hooks and melodies yet in his bottle of tricks. —Jeff Vrabel”
