Remember Me Lyrics T.I ft Mary J. Blige

Remember Me, first single off the re-release of T.I.’s double platinum album, Paper Trail, featuring RnB singer Mary J. Blige, released May 26, 2009

Don’t forget to Remember me

I’ll be back - so remember me
Please keep me in your heart
If we have to ever part
Don’t forget me, to remember me

T.I
The king marley day martin luther malcom x
I’m officially the freshest, don’t dare forget I’m gone
Momementairly don’t bury me yet like Ali
Got I got the title back prepare for that
When the world needed Tip, ask where was he at?
But when he need some back - fade to black
talk — behind his back, you a hater for that
I don’t respect noneless, in the game of chess
You think five moves ahead, and not behind
Jumped up and cheered when I got my time
Like yea, one more year I got to grind
But get me losing off your mind, Short may I remind you
that there ain’t another who done been through
what I been through
Time after time again you better get some in you
When you said, it was over for him and you thought it
couldn’t continue to floss heres to your memory loss
Sucka!

You do it big, everybody that you out shined
Yeah old lady fate talk about how he got fine
She say she tryin to get away, he say bout time
Right now, we all thinkin damn, hoping not mine
But when it’s lights out for you

Ain’t no telling whether or not your lady went and got down

With that town ’cause he hot now
Ripping up your love letters,
Lifting up her night gown
Right now somebody baby momma getting piped down
Kids in the next room listening Mama, pipe down
The thought hurt don’t it?
But maybe she’s strong enough
Or ain’t get that lonely
’cause you wasn’t gone long enough
Trust, it’s just a temporarily setback
It’s on when I get back
Please don’t remember that

T.I. begins federal prison sentence in Arkansas

Authorities say rapper T.I. has been booked into a federal prison in Arkansas to serve a year and a day sentence on a weapons conviction.

Prison spokeswoman Linda Thomas says T.I. has entered the prison, but couldn’t give an intake time for the Atlanta rapper, whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr.

T.I. was to report at noon CDT to begin serving his sentence. At 12:29 p.m., a black van with Georgia license plates and tinted windows pulled up to the prison. Guards and prison officials in three vehicles escorted the van to the prison grounds.

Police guarded the rural road leading to Forrest City’s federal prison complex Tuesday, awaiting the arrival of rapper T.I. to begin serving time on a weapons conviction.

Five officers from nearby Forrest City and the prison set up a roadblock along Arkansas 1, about a tenth of a mile away from the federal prison. Other officers cruised down the two-lane stretch of highway, as passers-by slowed down to gawk at television cameras and reporters waiting at crossroads.

Police refused to allow reporters any closer to the prison. Police Chief Dwight Duch didn’t immediately return a call for comment.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., had a noon deadline to report to the minimum security prison on the complex to begin serving his year-and-a-day sentence. It was unclear whether he would arrive from the airport in nearby Memphis, Tenn., or fly directly to the rural airport in the eastern Arkansas town.

Traci Billingsley, a federal prison spokeswoman based in Washington, said T.I.’s arrival would be handled no differently than any other, and the prison had no special protections prepared for the rapper.

“We treat all our offenders in the same manner,” Billingsley said Tuesday.

T.I., 28, was arrested after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007.

The self-proclaimed “King of the South” had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment. However, he reached a plea deal with prosecutors after spending time on house arrest before his sentencing, speaking before community groups and high schools about the dangers of drugs, violence and guns.

Following his release, T.I. will be on three years’ probation. He also must pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence.

He performed Sunday in Atlanta and told the crowd he’d “see y’all in 366 days.”

Grammy-winning rapper T.I. told fans he would stay optimistic when he heads to prison on a federal weapons conviction.

The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., performed for a packed audience Sunday night in Atlanta’s Philips Arena less than two days before he is to begin serving the sentence of a year and a day.

“I’m going to stand up tall, head up high,” he said. “Thank you for all of your support.”

Many in the packed crowd of about 16,000 people held up encouraging signs, like one reading “T.I. We Will Miss U!”

He must report by noon Tuesday to the Federal Correction Institution at Forrest City, Ark. He was arrested after prosecutors said he tried to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007.

During the concert, T.I. said he hoped that everyone learned from his mistakes. He brought his five children on stage, often holding one of them while he performed “No Matter What” — a single off the almost double-platinum album “Paper Trail.”

T.I., who won a Grammy for “Swagga Like Us,” also performed all his hits from “What You Know” to “Bring ‘Em Out” to his recent chart-topping singles “What Ever You Like” and “Live Your Life.” Teenage rapper Soulja Boy also joined him on stage.

“What I need y’all to do is pray for me while I’m gone,” he said. “I’ll see y’all in 366 days.”

T.I. Will Spend More Than Two Months In Prison, Official Clarifies

U.S. attorney’s office clears up confusion over sentence.

Though it probably spread a bit of joy among T.I.’s fans, recent reports that the rapper will only serve two months of his one year and a day prison sentence are inaccurate.

When reported on Sunday that T.I. — due to report to the Forrest City low-security federal prison in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 26 1611536 — had been given credit for 305 days of home detention, “so his stay at Forrest City prison will likely be only two months,” the news agency may have misread the sentencing report. The story has since spread on the Internet, but according to Charysse Alexander, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, it is not accurate.

According to Alexander, the rapper was indeed given credit for the 305 days of home confinement he served while awaiting trial in the case, but that has nothing to do with his prison sentence.

After pleading guilty to two charges of illegally possessing firearms and of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm in March in connection with his attempt in October 2007 to buy unlicensed machine guns and silencers, T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris, Jr.) was ordered to serve one year and one day in federal prison. Alexander explained that, at best, according to federal sentencing guidelines, anyone who serves more than one year in prison is eligible for a 15 percent “good time” credit, which in Tip’s case could shave almost 55 days off his sentence.

The confusion may have stemmed from mixing the credit for home confinement with the prison sentence, which are separate terms, Alexander said. Once T.I. completes the prison term, he will still have to server out the remainder of his home confinement, she said, which will amount to about two months.

The crimes T.I. was accused of would typically have landed him in prison for five or more years, but due to the plea deal worked out with prosecutors, he was able to receive a reduced sentence provided he performed more than 1,000 hours of community service over the last year, speaking to kids about the pitfalls of drugs, crime and gangs.

T.I.’s forthcoming prison sentence, of course, was the subject of MTV’s recent

While MTV News was unable to reach officials at Forrest City for comment by press time, the AP quoted that facility’s spokesperson as saying that T.I. will join 1,500 other inmates at the low-security prison and likely be treated like any other prisoner.

“Unless there are custody or security concerns, all incoming inmates are placed in general population,” R.D. Weeks reportedly told the AP. He added that each cell is double-bunked, so T.I. will have a cellmate and he will have access to the recreation yard, counseling and any of the facility’s 14 religious groups.

The self-proclaimed King of the South will be spending his exile in Arkansas.

T.I. will serve out his sentence of one year and one day in the Forrest City low-security prison when he turns himself in on May 26.

According to a population report filed just yesterday by the all-male prison, located 85 miles east of Little Rock and 45 miles west of Memphis, the double-fenced facility is currently housing 2,085 inmates.

It’s part of a larger Forrest City complex that also includes a medium-security prison and a satellite prison camp for the most minimum-security male offenders. All told, 4,214 inmates inhabit the compound.

The 28-year-old rapper, who copped to felony federal weapons charges, will either be housed in bunk bed-equipped dormitory-style housing or cubicle housing and will be required to take part in a work program.

Since his official sentence is (just) over a year, he will be eligible for early release. Last month, court officials also acknowledged that he would be receiving credit for 305 days spent in home detention, meaning he’s likely looking at less than two months behind bars.

T.I.’s final pre-prison concert will be held in Atlanta on May 24.

Rapper T.I. will be coming to Arkansas — to serve a federal prison sentence.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., must report to Forrest City’s low-security federal prison by noon on May 26, according to court filings. There, Harris will join 1,500 other inmates as he serves a year-and-one-day prison sentence after pleading guilty in March to federal weapons charges in Atlanta.

The rapper, the self-proclaimed “King of the South,” had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment.

Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months.

R.D. Weeks, a spokesman for the prison, said Harris likely would be treated like any other prisoner coming into the facility.

“Unless there are custody or security concerns, all incoming inmates are placed in general population,” Weeks told The Associated Press.

Weeks said each cell at the prison is double-bunked. Harris also will have the opportunity to use the recreation yard, as well as take part in counseling or participate in the one of the facility’s 14 religious groups, Week said.

Harris, 28, was arrested after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007. That came after Harris’ best friend was killed following a post-performance party in Cincinnati in 2006. The rapper has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.

Upon his release, Harris will be on probation for three years. He also must pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence.

Harris’ sixth album, “Paper Trail,” has sold about 2 million copies and the rapper earned a Grammy for the song “Swagga Like Us” that he performed with Jay-Z. Harris wrote the lyrics for the album while awaiting trial.

T.I. Speaks Out Against Gun Violence

Rapper T.I. joined Rev. Al Sharpton, Ja Rule, and various community activists at a march on Monday (May 11) in New York City to speak out against gun violence. The rally also honored the memory of 13-year-old Christopher Owen and 17-year-old Cory Squires, both recently gunned down in the city.

“I say thank you to you all, but I also feel I owe some of us an apology. I owe us an apology because the same violence and gun activity I’m attempting to stop, I once was a part of and played a huge part in promoting,” T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, can be observed speaking to the gathered crowd on numerous video recordings of the event available on the internet. “I carried guns and slung dope as a 13 year old. That’s why I feel I owe you an apology, but at the same time those experiences gave me the tools I need to be able to get out here and reach the people who are now doing what I used to do.”

On the eve of the event, T.I. wrote an open letter to the public on the Russell Simmons-headed website, globalgrind.com. “I broke the law and will accept my punishment. With deep reflection about where my life was headed, I have begun the process of redemption, and decided that before I go to prison, I want to speak to young people about responsibility as a lifestyle,” he wrote. “I hope that through my mistakes, young people can begin to learn, as I did, that we have to put our guns down and start to give our guns back. It pains me inside to hear about so many of our people dying because of gun violence…Now is the time for me to lead by example.”

In related news, T.I. booted fellow rapper Alfamega from his Grand Hustle Records following a published report by thesmokinggun.com earlier this month that claims the latter was an informant for the drug enforcement administration during a trial on a heroin trafficker.

T.I. was arrested in 2007 for attempting to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers, and he pleaded guilty last March. He was sentenced to one year and a day behind bars on federal weapons charges last month.

T.I.’s last album, 2008’s “Paper Trail,” has sold1.9 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan
